The Space museum has something to amaze everyone in the family, there are interactive space videos, a 360 degree view of the stars and planets, laser shows with the music of Led Zepplin and Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon.
The Old Hastings Mill House takes the visitors back to the 1800’s and what life was like, cooking, the toys and every day labor. This is a building that was the only building left standing after fire destroyed the rest of the buildings in the town.
There are several beaches to choose from where swimming, sandcastles and fun go together, Kits Beach is where there is a saltwater Olympic pool that is perfect for the new swimmer or the expert. The Watermark Restaurant is a place for fine dinning, while there are also grassy areas for a romantic or family picnic while watching the boats and the waves.
There are many parks to visit, there is Stanley park with many activities for everyone in the family, like the Children’s Farmland, home to birds, animals and reptiles. There are trails for walking and hiking, a part of the park where artists collect to work and there are the scenic views. This is also where the Seawall begins and is the perfect place to walk, skate or cycle at anytime of the day for an amazing view of the ocean and the mountains.
The mountains like Cyprus, Whistler and Seymour should not be missed no matter what time of year it is, there is something going on. There are hiking trails through the beautiful mountain forest, skiing and other snow sports and restaurants with magnificent views of the city below. These are also mountains that have slopes that have been chosen to be a part of the 2010 Winter Olympic venues and they are some of the best skiing in North America.
